Truth Under Attack 2

Truth Under Attack 2

At a time when there is much confusion over the basic doctrines of the Christian faith, coupled with a proliferation of new religious movements and cults, some professing to be Christian, others not, Dr Eryl Davies has produced a completely revised and updated edition of his popular title, Truth under attack, which was first published in 1990. In this work he provides an introduction to, and overview of, the contemporary Western cult scene from a biblical perspective, offering many helpful details and warnings about their teachings, and showing how they conflict with the Word of God.This new edition of his work is the second in a series of three volumes, which will include many new sects and provide updated information on those dealt with in previous editions. The other two volumes are expected to be published during 2005. Truth under attack is the latest book to be published in the new series called The Guide. The aim of the series is to communicate the Christian faith in a straightforward and readable way, and to that end each chapter relatively short and concise. An innovative feature of the series is that it is linked to its own web site, which can be found at www.evangelicalpress.org, where questions may be posted, to be answered by a team of experienced, dedicated men. Dr Davies is the principal of the Evangelical Theological College of Wales, Bryntirion, South Wales, where he lectures in the areas of Systematic and Contemporary Theology. He has spent some thirty years in the ministry in Wales, where he has, until recently, also been the chairman of the Universities and Colleges Christian Fellowship Wales Advisory Council. He is the author of The ultimate rescue, also published by Evangelical Press, and has written extensively on the subject of cults both for Evangelical Times, and more recently in his booklet Human cloning - right or wrong? He is married with two children.

Francis Schaeffer was a well-known, extremely influential apologist and thinker who made his mark defending orthodox truth in the face of strong opposition. He was foremost in the vocation of apologetic ministry, and he was a brilliant man whom God used mightily during the decades of the 1960's, 70's, and 80's.In Truth With Love, Bryan Follis explores the theology and thinking that fueled the ministry of Francis Schaeffer, from his Reformed position to his understanding of fundamentalism. Follis examines Schaeffer's apologetic argument and the role of reason in his discussions and writings. The position Francis Schaeffer took against modernism and its applicability in this day of postmodernism are studied as well. This book is a beneficial resource for any Francis Schaeffer fan and any minister, teacher, or student who appreciates truth and its defense in the face of different kinds of opposition.

Truthquest : Hell Forgive Me Anyway

Grease may be free but it certainly is not cheap. The cost of grace was captivatingly illustrated in the movie blockbuster The Passion of the Christ. The grace of God liberates and empowers Christians to walk in obedience and service to the Lord. However, studies of the lifestyles of American Christians show little difference between those who claim to be "born again" and those who claim no religion at all. The teaching and example of marshmallow grace has influenced our students to a life of soft discipleship. Author Steve Halliday shows students what it means to count the cost. This book shows TruthQuest students that to follow Jesus they must pick up their cross.
Truthquest : Jesusology

Truthquest : Jesusology

Jesus is hip these days. Anyone with a spiritual bent-especially postmoderns-recognize that Jesus is cool. Even world religions-their prophets and leaders-respect Jesus as a great inspirational influence upon history. But these admirers have one thing in common. They do not know Jesus as Lord. TruthQuest students have a need and responsibility-now more than ever-to get deep with their faith. They need not only to admire and respect Jesus, but to understand Him as God made flesh, crucified for our sins, raised on the third day, and now seated at the right hand of God interceding for us. And He will come back one day for those who know Him as their Lord
